What is a Web Press?

A Web press is a type of press which prints onto a continuous roll of paper or Other material. Some Web presses are able to PRINT on both sides of the paper at the same time thus reducing both time and costs.

A Web press can be made up of more than one unit linked together to allow it to PRINT in a variety of COLOURS. Other Finishing machines can be linked to the press to enable cutting, folding and punching of the material bring used to PRINT on. Some presses can be so large that they occupy several floors. 

The larger commercial Web presses such as the presses used by the newspaper Industry use wide rolls of paper to PRINT on and heat is used to set the ink (heat- set Web).

Smaller presses or cold set Web presses use much smaller rolls of paper and tend to be used for smaller printing jobs such as mail shots or for printing out forms.
